1. Start with Heart

When you sit down and start to think about your wedding day, don’t worry about the flowers, the dress, and the tables just yet. Instead, start with your heart. Write down the way you want to feel on your wedding day, how you want your style to be portrayed, and how you want your guests to feel at the end of the night. For example, my style is very clean, therefore I want every inch of my wedding to be perfectly aligned and artfully simplistic. If you don’t know what your style is, just look in your closet! What you wear every day is a direct reflection of your personal style.

2. Decide on the Basics

Pick out a color scheme of 2-3 colors that represent the love you and your fiancé share. Choose a texture or pattern that incorporates your style and then decide on smells and tastes you would like to experience on your wedding day. For example, I’m from the White Mountains of New Hampshire and love spring, so I would choose pastel tones such as light blues, creams, and greens with natural textures.

3. Add in the Details

Now it’s time for some fun! Once you have the basics nailed down, it’s time to add the smaller, but still equally as important details to your table setting. Think of these details as personal touches – little pieces of you and your love scattered throughout the wedding. For example, I sign all my letters “Yours Truly, Emma”, so for the wedding favors I may attach a card signed “Yours Truly.”
